IN-OFFICE TEETH WHITENING IN ONE SHORT VISIT!
 Before |
 After |
Looking Your Best Just Got Easier
Getting whiter teeth used to mean wearing gel-filled plastic mouth trays for hours each day over a period of up to several weeks. But now, thanks to modern technology, our office has the ability to whiten your teeth and give you a brighter smile in about an hour. Fantastic!
Safe And Easy
Although whitening teeth has befome popular lately, the idea is not new. Teeth become discolored by age, tobacco use, certain medications, and staining foods and beverages such as coffee, tea and red wine. Fortunately, in most cases our office can whiten teeth that have become stained in a single visit. Whether you're 28 or 82, a bright smile can boost your confidence and make you feel better about yourself.
What You Can Expect
The whitening procedure is not painful. Protective glasses shade your eyes from the light and there is no heat. A plastic "retractor" is put in your mouth to hold your lips, cheeks and tongue out of the way. Then, a solution containing hydrogen peroxide is painted on your teeth. The special light activates the solution, making the process fast and easy. After several minutes, the light shuts off, the whitening solution is taken off, the teeth are rinsed off and the process is repeated a couple of more times. Then the whitening solution is removed for the final time and you can begin to enjoy your new smile!
Your Exam
Your dental examination includes a thorough examination of all the hard and soft tissues of the mouth which surround and support the teeth (most teeth are lost from disease of the gums rather than from tooth decay). Also, a check for oral cancer is made. Additional tests and blood pressure may be taken.
We want to ensure that all your dental visits are as comfortable as possible. Therefore, we provide for our patients a range of anesthetic services including local anesthetic and nitrous oxide gas.
Stereo headphones with a wide range of musical selections are available. We also offer Virtual eye glasses with stereo headphones to view a wide variety of movies for your entertainment.
Digital X-Rays are Here
 |
|
Some of the benefits of the new digital x-ray equipment are obvious when you see the images it produces. The big picture on the computer screen is clearer than conventional dental x-rays, and it can be colorized, contrasted, turned, measured, and magnified for a more accurate diagnosis and more precise treatment. |
The other benefits of digital x-rays may not be as easy to detect. They are fast, and instantly available on the computer monitor for you to see, and conventional x-rays can take up to ten minutes to develop. Digital x-rays require 75 percent less time than traditional x-rays and there is no bulky x-ray film in your mouth. Instead, a sensor is placed in your mouth, where it responds to the x-rays and produces a clear image.
All these benefits mean that we can more easily diagnose what's happening with your teeth and explain our diagnosis to you, as well as the treatment options available.
With air abrasion, fillings are a breeze
Imagine having a tooth prepared for a filling without the vibrations and whine of the drill and with so little discomfort that normally no anesthetic is needed. Instead, there's just a blowing sound like a small fan.
The air abrasion system combines an abrasive material (usually alpha aluminum) with compressed air to prepare a tooth for restoration. A hand-held device emits tiny particles and forced air at high speed to gently remove decay. If the abrasive material does come into contact with your saliva, it's converted into hydroxide, a harmless ingredient found in toothpastes and antacids. We'll have you wear protective goggles while undergoing air abrasion treatment to avoid any eye irritation.
Air abrasion works well when restoring small, surface cavities, bonding, and with composite materials. It's also great for cosmetic procedures like veneers and onlays, and it's sometimes used to apply sealants on children's teeth. |
